New Holden Captiva (And Antara) Ad Filmed In Sydney

Holden 4WD Mounts Cityscape

Joshua Dowling
31 July 2006

www.drive.com.au

Holden parked two new four-wheel drives on an office building roof in Sydney as part of an advertising campaign.

The battle for family four-wheel-drive sales took to the skies yesterday - well, skyscrapers.

As part of a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign, Holden lifted two new 4WDs by crane onto the roof of an office building in Sussex Street in the city.

A month in the planning, the film shoot began at 6am on Saturday and was due to finish last night. Two southbound lanes of Sussex Street were blocked to allow room for the $4 million crane, which lifted each car 86 metres.

The Holden ad is due to begin airing when the Captiva 4WD goes on sale in September.

A report by NRMA Motoring & Services found the most expensive car to keep on the road is the Nissan Patrol Ti, which costs $376 a week to run. The cheapest was the Kia Rio hatchback and sedan, which costs $113.

I know there was talk of the Antara being sold by Holden, but I didn't know it was a goer.

New Opel Antara Could Join Captiva At Holden

They must be going to sell them both under the Captiva name.

I'm gonna ask the question that happens every thread. Why don't we have those here in the US?

Lets hope the Antara comes to the USA asap! A hybrid version also nonetheless. Hopefully GM continues to build equity into the Vue name and keeps it "Vue" not flipflopping the name every product generation.

Re: New Holden Captiva (And Antara) Ad Filmed In Sydney

The last Holden to come to the states was just about the only one that ever came to the states so what kind of record is that to use. Also GM sent over the front dumbed down instead of using the hot looking front end like the one Vauxhall got. Again we get the lower end of the stick. There is no reason why we should not have those models now. We could have been tooling while they were tooling across seas.

Antara is coming as the Vue, thankfully! I am fine without the Captiva, its not nearly as refined as the concept it was based on.

Vauxhall got the Antara as well.

I read somewhere that the Antara was coming to Oz as the upmarket Captiva Maxx to better fight the Euro and higher-end Japanese SUVs.
