Re: Holden Celebrates It's 60th Anniversary At The Adelaide Motor Show
Whoops. I thought they were in Aedlaide. Guess next time I am visiting my folks, I should head out to Fishermans Bend.

Anyway nice pictures mate. Every time i see a picture of the TT36 Torana i can but help think how much better looking the VE would be if it had a similar front end as the torana, esp the headlights. The Torana still looks very fresh and good looking IMO. |

Great shots, Asylum, that Dark Olive Metallic HG GTS is a dead spitter for the rep my brother built with a 283 and Celica 5-speed, pinched Christmas Eve 1982 IIRC.
It is hard to describe to anyone what the Coupe60 paint looks like, sort of liquid silver foil under clear. Looks like Marilyn is made off a pre-pro SIII, no aerial in the guard, snowflake mags, split outlet exhaust. Love that blue, USA got that on GTOs in 2005.

Yes, I often think Holden likes teasing the Yanks and the Euros - 'look what we did!'
I'm sure that car was extensively tested by US personnel at Lang Lang - probably helped Holden get the Camaro development, being able to engineer a car never designed into a viable coupe then convertible. Journos who've driven it report it's remarkably competent, no worse than other cut down coupes for strength or flex.

I would assume they took note of the changes to the chassis and incorporated then as appropriate in VE. Unfortunately the soft-top roof is out of date with current trend to hard roof convertibles. |
