Re: Holden Celebrates 60th Anniversary With Special Edition VE Ute
The thing is that they're devaluing the 60th Anniversary thing by spreading it widely but thinly (other VEs have had a turn) and the Holden ute itself is only 58 (i.e. born in 1950) - not that I wouldn't mind looking that trim and muscular at 58 (10 more years to get trim and muscular..).
But I guess it also allows them to make a big fuss over 60 years of utes in two years time, like they did the 50th anniversary in 1998.. I just wish they'd struck a badge for any model commemorating it (not a blurry "decal" that can be scratched off and thus lost, grrr) like they did for GM's 50th anniversary in Australia - was it really way back in 1976? I think so! |
