Re: GM's New 4.5L V8 Duramax Turbo-Diesel: Will The Holden Commodore Get It?

This engine would be nice for the future Cadillac STS/DTS successor and the new CTX in Europe.
In Europe diesel is cheaper than gasoline. So a big diesel is always welcome when US brands want to sell in Europe. I will not be surprised to see a Diesel Escalade (or DTX?) in the future as well.

Re: GM's New 4.5L V8 Duramax Turbo-Diesel: Will The Holden Commodore Get It?

Hey, I thought VW was crazy to put their V10 TDI in the Touareg, but they did. And then they put their V12 TDI (Eur). The Touareg V10 TDI is just crazy fast and powerful at the same time.

With the new diesels meeting or exceeding govt mandates, they should be options in the upper trim levels or luxury brands as customers demand (or provide orders for). I just hate that diesel fuel cost so much these days.

Diesel is cheaper than petrol here so bring it on - 2.9 & 4.5 - great way to increase your average mileage. With more diesel making the shores in the US the price must come down - after all it's easier to produce.

De-tune NO WAY - but maybe I'll leave the traction control on , most of the time!!
