Re: First Drive: HSV W427 - Australia's Most Powerful Performance Vehicle Yet!
Yeah I know, I was meaning to say that he claims it is Australias fastest car (I'll check if he says fastest sedan when my sound is fixed...but i dont think he does) when the Elfin is clearly quicker.

Re: First Drive: HSV W427 - Australia's Most Powerful Performance Vehicle Yet!
Alot of people are a bit disappointed about the W427's styling, but to be honest, it looks absolutely fantastic. I'd have one over a GTS or R8 anyday. Looks brilliant. The Computer generated images are a ****ty representation of what it looks like. But some are indeed beautiful.
It looks gorgeous, especially in profile for a full-sized family sedan. Who would take an M5 over this? Sure badge snobs, but they aren't really enthusiasts are they. If its interior they really worry about, I'd take the $100,000 i saved and use that to modify its interior, possibly a WP Racing job. Look at these new pics. I have to say again it looks absolutely fantastic. - Side Profile - Front Profile - White Front Quarter Profile (nice!) - White Rear Quarter Profile (exhausts and metallic finish diffuser look nice) - Seats, red leather, but they look brilliant. HSV have always made excellent seats, even Holden haters have to admit that.I think one niggle is that they should've made the side vents more aggressive. Like longer and slimmer? almost like razor cuts, still subtle but mean. The vents looks undersized for this type of car.

Well, they only have to satisfy another 337 people, so the fickle taste of us low lifes doesn't count for much. I'd only buy one if I was filthy stinking rich anyway. I doubt there will be a single dailer driver out of any of them...which is kind of a shame.

Re: First Drive: HSV W427 - Australia's Most Powerful Performance Vehicle Yet!
Meh. Impressive figures, but really it's still way short of a GTS Coupe lookswise and effectively not really any faster (slower due to speed limiter) - people have had GTSs easily as quick standard - sub 5.0 and high 12s on street rubber, at least partly because they're a full 300kg lighter. I'm sure HSV would love to do one in a Coupe60 format.
This just looks a little too Darth Vaderish around the chin. although I guess they have to make it stand out from the crowd,
