Elfin Supercharges LS1 For 50th Anniversary Streamliner - Elfin Range Prices Slashed
Elfin Supercharges Holden Heart
Glann Butler www.drive.com.au 1 March 2007 Boutique sports car maker Elfin boosts its V8 with performance capable of blitzing Ferraris and Porsche. Boutique sports car maker Elfin has announced plans for a supercharged V8 version of its lightweight Streamliner sportscar. The 50th anniversary model will have the most powerful Holden V8 ever seen in an Australian production car, and be capable of accelerating faster than any Ferrari or Porsche production car ever built. The engine is a 5.7-litre V8 used by previous generation Holden and HSV Commodores, supercharged for around 350kW and 660Nm. It will go into one of five limited edition Streamliner sports cars produced to celebrate Elfin's 50th anniversary in 2007. Elfin spokesman and HSV CEO Chris Payne says the limited edition Elfin Streamliner will have the power-to-weight ratio of a V8 supercar, and be capable of sprinting from 0-100km/h "in the 3-second bracket". Re: Elfin Supercharges LS1 For 50th Anniversary Streamliner
Damn, GM needs to build more cars like that, maybe make something like that for Pontiac to. If only Elfin can do some work here in the states, then GMs performance would be great, besides the vette. Just a thought there, since that is one sweet ride, and I could see something like that based off the Solstice to. Can I please have one.

Re: Elfin Supercharges LS1 For 50th Anniversary Streamliner
To be honest I truly love the MS8 clubman I think it is the best looking car in the world. The streamliner I'm not so keen on but it does look cool with that t-top. A power to weight ratio of almost 350kw per tonne is pretty cool.

In the article it talks about the UK. I wonder whether they would use the Vauxall dealers or set a small operation. It would certainly cause a stir in a Vauxhall dealership.

- alot of cash to change many many things on the car to make it meet FMVSS/CMVSS 108 standards Or - Get your country and your southern neighbors to adopt ECE regulations for motor vehicles, at least as an alternative to FMVSS/CMVSS 108. At the very least, I'd like to see the US and Canadian law changed to say that, "A vehicle produced for sale in (Canada/the USA) shall meet either the following regulations or ECE standards for automotive design:" That way we could consume cars meant for the global market and for the local market. Then we could phase out FMVSS/CMVSS in favor of the nearly-global ECE regulations adopted by, among others, all countries of the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and several Middle Eastern countries (Korea may belong in this list, too), ie, todays non-North American automotive powerhouses. See this Wikipedia article for a proper list... Those Elfins are gorgeous! I must say, those Aussies have been making some beautiful cars, lately. dygituljunky
