Re: Confirmed: Hybrid Holden Commodore By 2010!

Those 2.8-3.2 litre engines are mostly exported and wouldn't really change the fuel economy. A hybrid is a good idea but I can't see hybrids being the future of the motoring industry, Hydrogen is looking a goer and GM/Ford etc need to watch BMW closely on their development of Hydrogen engines as they could potentionally be the future of the automotive industry.

Of course, naturally the 6-speed would be for the upper-class Commodores, but I wouldn't be surprised if Holden offer the 6-speed as an option for the Omega and Berlina. After all, I'd assume that the Omega and berlina will receive the 225 DI V6 or the 195 non-DI V6. Either way, the base Commo's would definitely see a power increase.

Re: Confirmed: Hybrid Holden Commodore By 2010!

With official testing it's been a shock to me to see the Calais SV6 use more fuel with the 195 5 speed package, Still can't work this out?.

Maybe a 5 speed auto and better flowing twin exhaust into single might help with the base 180 engine?.

This is what you can do with the 5 speed 195 package, It's got great potential it just doesn't seem to be found on official econemy testing, But real world it's good and can be very good.
