Thumbs up Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

Here is Jeremy Clarkson reviewing the Corvette Z06. It's a kinda moderate review but he does cool stuff with the car!

Re: Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

I always notice that in order to find a comparable vehicle for the Z06, one again has to resort to Ferrari and Aston Martin. That says something in and of itself. I almost don't need to be told how great this car is; it speaks for itself.

While I noticed quick slights from Jeremy, I also noticed his inability to compare the "Zed-O-6" to a sports car solely from a mass-market British firm (we all know that the Aston Martin he references now traces its roots across the pond to Dearborn). ******************** envy of sorts?

Re: Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

Not sure I wanna read it. Because Clarkson and his "candy-ass" will say he doesn't lke the interior. But I'll read it anyhow, and give my take on the back side ...

Re: Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

I love the gas race I've also heard it's not bad for a daily car. There are 2 that I know of in my town, and they drive them all the time in stop and go traffic.

Re: Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

I like his comment when he started to lose control, "It's not that sophisticated...!". He starts to lose control and responds with this typical European "sophistication" comment.

And for that time, that was 1 run. Yor make several runs and average 'em out, and I bet the C6 Z06 moves up.

Hey, and Jeremy, look at the 2006 Le Mans results. It crushed your beloved Aston-Martin.

Re: Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

Considering Aston Martin Just got back into Lemans racing late last year, their doing quite well for themselves and giving the vette a run for it's money.

Re: Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

It's months old. And he has a point with the 'sophistication' thing. The Z06 is a great, great, great car, but that doesn't mean there's not room to improve.

I mean, I love the Vette with a passion and I think they gave it a very favorable review. It's a car that outruns competition that costs $100,000+ more than the Z06, and it's a track car first and foremost.

Wasn't t was first run on BBC " Top Gear" just a few weeks back. At least I thought that was the first time it was shown. And no it never gets old to hear that beautiful music come out of that 7.0 liter American beast.! :-)
I've seen a few new Z06's running around our neck of the woods up here in Finland, and it's a wonderful site to behold too.

Re: Top Gear reviews Corvette Z06

So let's see, terrible handling but compensated with lots of torque, back breaking ride, flimsy build quality, awful tire noise and stereo...but it goes fast and burns rubber for 70 G's.

Hardly an edorsement.

You could do everything in that video in a Shelby GT 500 with 4 passengers, a much better ride, more stand-out and look-at-me style and all for about $30K less.
