One issue every GM has the front end problem. My 2002 and 2006 models have had more problems than my 1996 model. I think quality has stayed the same as my parents GM cars have had similar issues as well. I hope I am wrong though about the new Malibu. I understand problems but not the same issues over the course of 8 years. The 2004-07 model had the same issues as the 1998-02 my brother has that Malibu. Just my .02
