He usually saw 22-23 as an average and up to 28 on pure highway runs and that was with the engine seldom in 3 cylinder mode going 75-80 MPH. Give yours time to break in more and see if it gets better. Are you in a high altitude area or does your gas contain higher levels of Ethonal?

The car now has about 3,000 miles on it. The tires are inflated to the recommended 32 psi. I use name-brand, regular unleaded gasoline. I do not live in a high-altitude area. With mostly suburban driving - the car averages between 14.6 - 16.3 mpg. With a mix of 80% highway driving and 20% suburban driving, the car is averaging 20.3 mpg. These figures are from the car's driver information center and I reset the average MPG figure each time I fill-up the car.

The revised / lowered MPG estimates for this car are 18 mpg city - 28 mpg highway (regular fuel). I do not use Ethanol E-85 gasoline, although it is available in my area.

Re: Test Drive: 2008 Chevrolet Impala LTZ E85

we also have the 2007 3LT with the 3.9- and 17inch tires.
Great Car.
Using the DIC-
in city- 21 most of the time.
city/hwy -22-24
We took a drive this weekend- were seeing 26 MPG. but now that were back in city driving- it will go down.
on a long trip with all highway- best ovserved- cruise set at 55-65, no AC, DIC- 32 MPG (3cyl was engaged often)

Im a fairly frugal driver- no jackrabbit starts, I look ahead and determine what ill do now. If I see a light turn yellow- I let off the gas and coast the rest of the way- usually when I get to the light- I simply accelerate from a moving start. stuff like that.
I do the same in our Trailblazer.
did a 220 mile drive last night.with cruise set at 65 going there, and 60 coming back.
