Pontiac GTO vs. Subaru STi Comparison Test

What a joke, these cars are not even competitors?

Re: Pontiac GTO vs. Subaru STi Comparison Test

They could only get a 14 second 1/4 mile out of the GTO? Someone tell these writers to get out of the car and let mommy drive.
The only other truly unbelievable part was when they noted that the Subaru had a higher class interior. A Subaru. Are they kidding? I like how when it's the Saab 9-2x magazines are testing, they make sure to note that the interior has too much Subaru cheapness left in it, but when it's actually a Subaru they're testing, they pick the interior over that of a GTO.

Re: Pontiac GTO vs. Subaru STi Comparison Test

Pathetic. Edmunds can't drive worth a crap. They really must have the slowest times for each car out of all major auto testing organizations. The STi is faster than 14.1 also. GTO at 14? Gimme a break. They're both low 13 second cars right off the lot. I don't know if you guys watched the video, but the GTO sounds sooooooooo good. Nothing like that V8 rumble to get your blood moving.

That was quite possibly the worst article I have EVER seen or read in my entire life. Edmunds strikes again...

I can see it now:

Eventhough the Suburban has more power, more features, more towing capability and is available with a towing package, we will go with the Jetta for it's taut suspension, excellent handing and excellent gas mileage.

Exactly! How did they test these cars so poorly? Then they make fun of my beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable 04 GTO. Everytime I get in my car I just can't wait to drive her and listen to that V8 exhaust note...music to my ears!

Re: Pontiac GTO vs. Subaru STi Comparison Test

They certainly need better drivers.. Those times are ridiculous.. My unmodified 1987 Corvette did high 13s.

Judging from the GTO / STi article, they'll claim the Jetta wins in towing comparison.

EDIT: Guess I should have finished the whole thread, TaHoE beat me too it...lol.

Yeah I know - apparently they couldn't even launch an AWD car correctly! What did they do, not launch it at all? What a bunch of losers.

Edmunds used to have some good comparisons, but their recent ones have just gone down the drain.

Edmunds is stupid while the wrx has a above average interior it can't compete with the monaro/gto-leather/dash layout, yeah did they pull that 14 quarter while they were half asleep-even motortrend managed to pull a 13.3 quarter out of the 05' and gm says its even less so someone has to explain for that...

note:sry if pics are too big had trouble finding ones that would show up and they are the only ones i could find...

Re: Pontiac GTO vs. Subaru STi Comparison Test

The Subaru interior is a clone of Daewoovrolet Lacetti interior and it feels cheap, the guy who wrote Subaru had better interior must have been drunk.
