Escalade uses "Generations old pushrod tech", but still gets better gas mileage and has better performance numbers? So what does the Mercedes actually have to offer, other than an inflated price??? American companies are the only true SUV builders!

Because a luxury SUV isn't all about power and gas-milage? How about comfort, technology, innovation, features, and quality?

I am sure we can all agree that Mercedes' untouchable world-class luxury reputation didn't come from building powerful vehicles with good gas-milage. There's more to the formula, isn't there?

Re: Leader powerful Cadillac's all-new 2007 Escalade is fast and flashier

I'd say the new Escalade is the SUV to get in the luxury market right now. It would certainly be my #1 choice. I don't like any of the new Mercedes SUV's, the interior of the X5 is starting to look boring and I don't think much of Lexus and Infiniti SUV's.

What's left? Well there's the new Audi, VW, Cayenne (all more or less the same thing) but I still think the Escalade is the one to get. It's powerful, fast, luxurious, looks gorgeous and the hip-hop crowd have elevated it above some of it's competition like the Lincoln Navigator, Lexus etc.

The only issue that I have with it is that no Bluetooth is offered.

I would agree. It should have this as standard. Still, the Escalade is beautiful.

The lack of a power tilt/telescope steering wheel is nothing short of inexcusable. Its omission is that much more glaring in light of how good the rest of the truck is.

That's why they call the options! It does not come standard.

Yea, that old damn pushrod techn is actually newer than the OHC design. Amazing how ignorant people are.
