Re: First Drive: Chevrolet HHR
![]() I don't think that looks much like the PT Cruiser. The back seat comfortably handles full-size folks with plenty of head room and ample shoulder room for two, or three in a pinch. That's a relief. I hope he's right.

Re: First Drive: Chevrolet HHR
Saw one in the flesh the other day. It may stand for Heritage "High Roof" but the thing I was surprised by is how low it is. The PT cruiser seems alot higher.

A few weeks ago, in a thread about the new Impala and HHR, people were commenting at how much larger the HHR appeared when compared to the PT Cruiser. The pictures are somewhat deceiving ... the HHR is tiny. The most obvious difference is in the wheelbase ... the HHR clearly has a longer wheelbase, which gives it a much nicer profile than the PT Cruiser, in my opinion. I believe Motor Trend has a good HHR-PT comparison in this month's edition. |

Re: First Drive: Chevrolet HHR
The HHR looks great!
Look at the pic ByTheLake posted. The HHR is maybe an inch or so taller than the PT, but is much longer which allows for more cargo space BEHIND the 2nd row of seats. The two aren't meant to be big by any account. They are supposed to be street cruisers meant to carry mostly people and some cargo....but mostly to cruise. My only gripe is that the HHR doesn't have an AWD option. I have a large RWD car, but I'm searching for a small AWD SUV or crossover-type vehicle with a V8, strong V6, or descent I4 to add to the garage. The HHR fits the bill (almost). |
