edmunds.com: Follow-Up Test 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha
Sorry if its a repost.. i looked but didnt find it.
Follow-Up Test: 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha ![]() Vehicle Tested: 2008 HUMMER H3 Alpha 4dr SUV 4WD (5.3L 8cyl 4A) MSRP of Test Vehicle: $43,765 What Works: Now has the power to keep up with Buicks and Hyundais; still as good off-road as it was before. What Needs Work: Poor visibility; poor fuel economy; silly styling gimmicks. Bottom Line: Just as capable off-road and no longer an embarrassment on the road. Full Review at Link + Video/Photos: |

Re: edmunds.com: Follow-Up Test 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha
^^^ Exactly, wouldnt the Wrangler, NISMO off-road Titan, and the FJ be the only real competitors to the H3? Wonder which Buick and Hyundai they are refering to? And I don't know why they are complaining about "silly styling gimmicks", those "gimmicks" are what makes a Hummer one of the most unique vehicles on the market.

Though the sacastic (but true) remark was fairly obvious. A Buick or Hyundai could beat the H3 (non-V8 model) off the line. For the H3 to be a Hummer and thus very macho, it would seem that the premium paid for the beast can, at the least, get you some "speed and power" bragging rights among the average daily driver crowd. |

What Needs Work:
Poor visibility; poor fuel economy; silly styling gimmicks. POOR FUEL ECONOMY??? Hello!?! It's a 5100lb SUV with a V8!!!! 13 city/16 highway is about as good as it gets with current technology.

That fuel economy IS poor. My Avalanche is a much larger 5700lbs SUV that gets 15/19 under the new EPA rating system. And my engine makes 20 more horsepower.

Another self-congratulatory article. Basically written so "Daniel Pund" can let people know how sophisticated he is. Yes, he's too sophisticated for the laughable bruteness of the H3 and its "John Wayne" posturing.

I sense some sarcasm in the whole Buick/hyundai thing...
