Corvette Z06 vs. Lambo Gallardo

Funny how when GM sets its mind to something, it builds a vehicle that needs to be compared in general to vehicles costing multiple times more than its entry... and GM's entry does well for itself. Even the last place finish in the recent C&D comparison is proof of that: it lost to a $130,000 911 turbo and a $180,000 Ferrari F430. The fact that it's being compared to such vehicles is information in and of itself.

Good vid, but performance isn't an issue with the Vette. Just watch ALMS races for proof. Last months Car&Driver article that cause so much strife here on the boards just proves it more. The Vette smoked the competition in performance, it was just let down on the quality of the interior. What I want to see with the "Blue Devil" version is a serious bump in the quality of interior.

Thats kinda pathetic that a car lost due to something cosmetic..its a performance car, it should rated by its performance. So for twice the cost of a Vette, the only thing thats better is the interior..."I just spent almost 200grand for this car that just got shamed by a car that only costs 70 er so..but atleast I have a nice interior"..who ever has the mindset doesnt need to have access to that amount of power..fall out.

Imagine what I'd feel with a car that costs as much as a house being slammed like that by a Chevy!

Interior....schminterior. The Z06 kicks all kind of ass. The interior isn't great but it isn't that bad either. And it's not like the Lambo and Ferrari interiors are worth $200,000 more.

I've commented on this article before. It depends on how the Mag was ranking the cars. Was their decision on cost no object, cost an object, just performance or what. C&D didn't really say.

Nice vid, never seen it. Americas super-car puts it to the world. Love it. Thats what GM/Chevy wants it to compare to Euro supercars not some crappy Ford. A Zo6 is a car that you can drive everyday, have storage space and get 25+mpg and on the weekend woop up on the track

I hate mags like C&D and Motortrend cuz when it comes to american cars against the euro or japnees cars the american cars get dogged all the time.

One '06 ZO6 and one 475 hp '02 Firebird Blackbird in the garage. Love both machines; but, when the valet parks the Z, he places it where all can see. Eat your engine out, Ford; cute as the DB9 is, the Z really moves folks.
