For the Aveo to be a true Echo killer it just needs to be more fuel efficient....that's all....how hard is that? I think that Chevy needs to do a mid term refresh with the upgraded E-series. For looks and quality...especially interior Aveo is the winner hands down.

That Aqua color is attrocious. I actually saw one in person a while back in that color, it looks like something from out of the early 90's.

There's someone at my college who has been busy modifying the heck out of his Aveo, wouldn't surprise me if he's spent more on the modifications than the car itself. It actually looks pretty decent now. I'll try to snap a pic next time I see it.

I'm stunned that Automobile magazine gave its nod to the only "domestic" of the comparo. Then again, it may be because the three contestants were basically Asian makes, so it was a win-win situation for the Magazine.

The Aveo needs its powerplant replaced by one of GMs mini Ecotec variants. The 1.6 liter Ecotec puts out more horsepower, more torque, and gets better gas mileage than 1.6 liter currently in the Aveo. Heck the new 1.8 liter Ecotec would really make the Aveo fly.

You guys need too see a Honda Jazz.

if i am guessing right, the Toyota is sold here as a Yaris, and the Aveo as a Daewoo (now Daewovrolet)...and niether are as good as the Jazz (called the Fit in Japan).

check out www.honda.co.uk but pictures dont really do it justice. The seats are the first to be cleverer than Opels flex-7 introduced years ago - pure packaging genius.

Or maybe they just aren't that biased? Who would've thunk it!
