Re: Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid vs. Mercedez-Benz Gl320 CDI
Its in the pipeline - thats all I know. The VUE system will give you an idea of what to expect. We'll start hearing details about that shortly.

however, i do want a diesel and my next truck will be one, the gm 4.5L that is. a diesel-two mode would be icing on the cake for me.

Re: Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid vs. Mercedez-Benz Gl320 CDI
I am glad to hear GM is doing it.

Re: Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid vs. Mercedez-Benz Gl320 CDI
It pretty much shows the Tahoe Hybrid for what it is. A 4.5L Duramax Tahoe would make much more sense (and wouldn't lose money for GM on every unit). GM's two-mode SUVs are not going to sell very well and for the money they really don't make any sense at all.
It's another shallow attempt by GM to greenwash themselves and it's not being bought by most media outlets. |

The same goes for the Civic versus the Civic hybrid. So GM's "greenwashing" is no worse than anyone else's. |

Did anyone see that the Autoweek test of the Tahoe 2 Mode Hybrid only averaged 13.9 MPG!

The Hybrid Tahoe get's the EPA numbers and can even do a little better as had been reported by auto journalists driving the car conservatively. |

Not really. It's $5,000 below a Tahoe LTZ and comes nicely loaded.
My local dealers are advertising $5,000 off the hybrid now too! ![]()

In my mind you could beat on a diesel and not get as much of a mileage drop which is why I think the diesel will be the better way to go for light trucks. Used hard the hybrid will not provide any significant real life benefit over the gas version as the hybrid will be using the gasoline engine almost all of the time. DDL |
