A great review for a car that 90% of America cant afford.
Maby I lack style, but Z06, or Viper simply look better, let alone performance. Great Job GM, now fix the Ion.

If they charge 100g's for it they might as well use the aluminum hydroformed chassis that the Z06 uses instead of the stock steel one. The cars are built on the same basic chassis, right?

Done as quickly as you can say Astra!

(Or at least, Astra-la-vista, Ion-Delta?)

I agree about the Z06 and the Viper. The Ion may be pretty ugly, but Honda hasn't done much better with the Ridgeline and the Civic.

Great review. I can't see how other journalists don't like the XLR-V. Honestly, an XLR-V loses to an SL 550? Get real Car and Driver. But I have to ask, what does the Ion have on the Civic? I see no comparison on that one.

I don't see how it's any better than a Camry Hybrid...

I don't know if I'm crazy but how can the wheel base be longer than the length of the car? Check it out on the graphic at the end of the article.

Nice review. Definitely the best looking Cadillac in my opinion.

I agree with all of your takes. Ion will be going away, to be replaced by the Astra. I'd take a Z06 or std C6 any day over the current XLR. Maybe the next gen will be more appealing, time will tell.

Re: Cadillac XLR-V roadster puts all other vehicles made in U.S. to shame

I wonder why GM does not use the ZO6 chassis on the XLR-V to make it even lighter. I like it and my only issue with the XLR is the front lower bumper that scoops up. That is so ugly just let it stay even and if you want one just know your driveway can't be inclined much. That is like Ferrari scooping up the fronts of their cars or something to keep it from scraping.

Wow really good review, it even did well when compaired to the Mercedes SL55 AMG, that says alot for it in itself!! and 22mpg highway, that pretty good for a 469hp supercharged V8!

Re: Cadillac XLR-V roadster puts all other vehicles made in U.S. to shame

"Cadillac XLR-V roadster puts all other vehicles made in U.S. to shame"--Considering what most of the American automotive press thinks of American cars, this sounds a bit like damning with faint praise.
