Re: 2008 Cobalt SS Turbo First Drive

The new SS Turbo sounds awesome. I would mind some more aggressive effects on the front and sides but I'm glad they are axing the large wing on the back. I thought is was too big and didn't really serve a valid purpose (I don't think even the turbo has much need for that much down force). Perhaps GM is figuring that the crowd that buys this car gets aftermarket exterior parts anyways, so they are saving the time and money to design/build new styles.

$22,995....well thats gonna end up being close to $30,000 here in Canada then if its in line with the HHR, what a shame.

Transmission changeover takes TIME which many GMI'ers don't understand. I find it funny that you did bring up the navigation issue by saying you will not bring it up

Like I said before, GM doesn't see the benefit in doing that IE selling more Cobalts to justify doing that, which I think is extremely disappointing, but its true.

For the record, my belief is the MCE should have looked like this front clip wise and minus wide body kit:

with a malibu inspired dash. Above is the 2005 Cobalt SS wide body concept.

Wow the Bu front end looks fantastic on the Cobalt.

I think that new Cobalt SS/TC is pretty sweet. I sat in it in Detroit and I absolutely love the seats in it. I really want to drive one on a track.

Re: 2008 Cobalt SS Turbo First Drive

I guess I will chime after looking at those pics. I have seen similar pics and the Cobalt is very hot little car I think. However, I still would not put it at the top of my list unless I was downsizing. I would rather remain in the midsize coupe if that is possible. Otherwise, I might would give it a try.

Hopefully, when the Sedan SS cobalt arrives as a 2009, an automatic will be an option on it.
That won’t happened according to the GM engineers.
