Me bad you are correct about the engine but close enough....and as for the jokes and stereotypes, that is basically ignorance talking. I (and most others I assume) buy what they like or need for their own reasons.

I have my reasons for wanting an ST as well. I'm not married & don't have kids, so 2 seats are fine for me. Plus, occassionally, I carry something dirty/messy that I wouldn't want touching carpet. And then there's always the need for something to carry home a new flat screen tv with.

Agreed. I am married but no kids and no plans for any. My friends and I spend a lot of time and money on old cars so a greasy engine core is always in the cards, plus all the various other parts that need to be cleaned or moved when building a car (from drivers all the way to show winning concours restos) and of course haul garbage, house renos, snowmobiles etc. Always need a truck around.

On the LS2 vs the L76, there isn't much difference really...small drop in compression (0.5), the L76 makes 40 less hp but also does that at at 700 less rpm and is sae certified, bit less torque at same rpm, the AFM system but otherwise both are all aluminum sfi with same bore and stroke and of course both these engines will respond like crazy to mods.

Hopefully GM make it long enough to get this thing here so can do a test drive at least...

D@mit you right. American's listen up. More Camry's and only Camry's. God has forbidden a manufacturer produce something that is unique and has style.

You sheep, don't even think about a vehicle other than a Camry. It's the car "other" Americans want you to drive, we should all just blend into the crowd.

I hope GM survives long enough to still get the ST to our shores. Is the GXP sedan now in production?

Yes, GXPs are now integrated on the assembly lines in Elizabeth. Do you check G8Board.com much?

Re: SEMA 08: Pontiac G8 ST Concept

with alot of people used to the utility of a truck bed but no longer wanting a large truck, this could be a good product. but looking like the G8 is dumb. should've been a GMC or Chevy. This is like a BMW M3 pickup. Mindless. It'll damage the credibility of the G8 as a sporting sedan. This is one of those indications, like Saabarus and Saablazers and BuLSh1ts, that GM product "gurus" really don't bring much to the table. A bunch of guess work and testing the waters that any enthusiast could trump. It takes some stellar hits like the Vette and CTS-V to demonstrate the potential somewhere at GM's core, where folks know and love cars. But in the fringes, doing stuff that's more mainstream, there's alot of mediocrity in strategy.
