Re: SEMA 08: Pontiac G8 ST Concept

GM is nearly broke and they are wasting money bringing thing to our shores. They can barely sell the awesome G8, let alone a useless, and ugly as sin 2-seat version. What is wrong with Lutz and why is he still employed?!

If I didn't have three kids I would be all over the ST, but since I do have three kids I would prefer a sportwagon.

You hit the nail on the head describing my situation. I will own one and I don't give a damn how many people thinks it sucks. It will fulfill a vehicle want and need at the same time. I don't want or need a full size mammoth guzzler truck that handles like a brick. Haters can keep drinking the haterade. I'll be happy.

I dont think they are thinking it will sell well.. i think its just to bring more attention to the brand.

Exactly...there is no coupe...and that is a shame because the G8 is a sexy car but I won't buy a four door.

Re: SEMA 08: Pontiac G8 ST Concept

Why not?
G8 ST is a 2 door, with a big ol'trunk.
I think that Holden would love a coupe, but without North American support...

thank You for your precious time you spend on searching the links . Of course I know it. But being lazy, I'd rather order them from one company.

Ugly as sin - I don't think so, hey ute's aren't my thing but compared to some of the ugly junk GMNA sells it is at least nice (not beautiful) ie the HHR to quote Arnie in Predator - that is one ugly Mutha F###er, they sell those don't they.

Re: SEMA 08: Pontiac G8 ST Concept

Marketed correctly-a big "if" for the General-this car could definitely find a following in the U.S. Then again, I like this GM Australia line of vehicles (sedan, coupe, Ute, and wagon), so my judgment could be clouded.

Re: SEMA 08: Pontiac G8 ST Concept

For those who like to be different, to stand apart from the crowd that drive Camrys and Accords, who crave to drive something totally unlike anything else brand new off the showroom floor -- welcome G8 ST! I think it looks HOT! And I will always hold out hope for the SportWagon to come here, too. Cadillac is expanding the CTS family by adding a coupe and wagon, so why not have a full selection of G8s? There are currently three G6s -- sedan, coupe, convertible -- and how practical is the convertible? I read a lot of car enthusiasts screaming for Pontiac to be unique and stand out like the good ol' days -- well, if the ST doesn't do that, what will? Make mine Stryker Blue!

I still think this is a good substitute for a small truck, for someone who needs a truck some of the time but doesn't need to haul big loads. Didn't they say this thing could tow like 5 thousand pounds?

Re: SEMA 08: Pontiac G8 ST Concept

I think it'll be ok, it should sell in the limited numbers GM wants it to. I do think it's somewhat silly not to offer a V6, considering how GM seems to be so concerned with CAFE and the elimination/downsizing anything big. Do they not offer a V6 Ute in Australia?

As a Pontiac yes, a terrible idea.

As a Chevrolet, a great idea. The Commodore sedan should have been a Chevrolet from the beginning as well.
