Re: SEMA 08: GM Shows 4 Camaro Show Cars
Quote:
i've not heard much from SLP, other than they want to make the G8 the next firehawk. they are hardcore GM aftermarket, including suspension pieces, intakes and exhausts, so they pretty much will dictate what will be available for the camaro. sure, other niche companies will have their offerings, but i am looking to SLP to lead the way. it also helps that they are 5 minutes from my house. ![]() i hate it when people say things like "harkens back to the COPO days", when in fact there is no COPO like there used to be. try shoe-horning the SS motor into a panel HHR, get all of the different GFX that are SS specific, all before the car gets to the dealer... not happening. that's what COPO was, besides being the branch that handled fleet cars (taxis and cop cars). if you could dream it up, COPO could make it happen and all under warranty. if only that existed today. so tease us with a few models at SEMA about what could be. i'm wondering how many Daytona 500 replicas will be available? not to mention if the Camaro is to pace the Indy 500, how many of those are going to be made available to the public? seeing one car is nice, but how much support are those specialty cars going to receive from brother GM? also, that black one was very aptly described as "sinister". very nice job. how many of those are going to hit the streets? |
