Re: NYIAS 08 Preview: 2009 Acura TSX

Honda is definitely going through a bit of a design funk these days. they used to make "pleasantly unoffensive" cars. now they are just ugly. oh well, at least they are reliable.

The white car is the diesel version and gets a different bumper. I'm a little underwhelmed with the "bird beak" grill. There is a very extensive discussion on the Acura board... 2009 TSX

Also, it only has 201hp... the 2008 version has 205hp. I'm sure it will be fun to drive, but I'm not sure I will buy it.

I agree with you. I think the grill is terrible.

I'll give it this much, it does look a lot more aggressive than the current model. That bar on the grill is, hopefully, all we'll see of that concept sedan Acura showed last year. That looked like a very bad copy of the Lincoln Sentinel concept car.

that grill isn't working on this car. Acura needs a better design direction.

The grille just ruins it, that chrome piece that they have on all the new Acura's is awful. Other then that though, overall to the untrained eye it doesn't even look all that different from the previous generation car.

Re: NYIAS 08 Preview: 2009 Acura TSX

The diesel option has me intrigued, but if it wasn't for that, this thing is a yawn-mobile.

Then again, BMW will be offering diesel options on their 3 series. I would rather have one of those than a TSX.

I think it looks good and i know it will drive well because my firend had an 08 tsx for rental. And it really felt peppy. But I just cant get past this beaver/bucktooth grill that all the new acuras are getting.

This should be the US spec Accord. It looks much better. I like the angular cut lines in the front end. I don't know why most people hate it. It is not bad at all.

I hear Honda/Acura designers aren't paid too well, so you get what you pay for I guess.

No thanks. The wheels especially look bad. Why not just buy the Accord? I used to love the TSX and TL.

An improvement over the current offerings. Still a little too closely related to the overall Honda look for my taste. Acura should be a much more distinctive brand with its own look.

Boring. Looks just like every other Acura/Honda. You can hardly tell it is a new model.
