Re: NYIAS 08: 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck

- Notwithstanding the above BS and bafflegab, I am very interested in getting a ute when they show up on this side of the pond. I think a split bench seat option should be offered for those of us who will "NEVER" buy a 4 door anything - Also while I still like a manuel shifter, father time has caught up with this Boomer and the knees are starting to show some ware and I will be forced to buy an automatic - [damm demographics]......
- The only problem I can forsee is that if the Dealers overprice them - they will sit on the lots forever!!!!

I agree that you will be right about the dissatisfaction of the Firebird crowd.
I still think that both the Camaro & Firebird should have been brought back toegther(sharing the same platform & all as before, just different sheetmetal. As to the latter, Neither is the G8. Both the G8 & G8 ST(as was/is the last GTO) are foreign looking as Pontiacs b/c they are exactly that, foreign! Albeit from part of the GM family that is down under.

Re: NYIAS 08: 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck

I love the "Malloo"!!!!! That is one wild truck/car. I have to side with the Aussies on this issue. I'll be going down under next year and hope to see or if lucky, drive that Malloo. Did anyone notice that it will be the fastest sport truck on the market when it enters? And that is a bad thing? I am just curious about fuel consumption. I know it will have active fuel management but it will also require premium fuel. The HP is very respectful. If your kids are grown and you want the utility of a truck, and the sporty qualities of a sports car, this is it. There are way many more of us older car crazies that want this that have the $$$ than the younger ones who diss it. I think I just may be able to fit all of my 16 didgeridoos in this one too!

They're mostly a bad engineered rebadge of either a Chevy or Holden...for the most part. Sad! So sad!

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Thanks for predicting Pontiac's demise, Chicken Little.

I hope this turns out not to be such a great seller.... That way I can hold out buying one in the beginning, and get one with $10,000 in rebates.... LOL

(Yes this post is meant solely as a joke, don't get your panties in a bunch guys)

You know that is kinda like telling someone a "You're mommas so ugly..." joke then saying, but don't get upset about it.

Toyota might have that much on the hood of the Tundra before too much longer though.

Well if the manufacturers would price MSRP at realistic prices that they could actually sell them at maybe they wouldn't have to have all these huge rebates all the time.

When I bought my Avalanche back in 03 I got a no haggle out the door price of $10K below sticker. The only time vehicles don't have rebates anymore it seems is the first 3 months in showrooms..

That's about the truth. I'm hoping they price the ST under the G8 GT by 2K or so. It would help sales initially. Too bad for the greedy stealerships that will probably try to tack markups on them for those 3 months.
