You could ask Meryl Streep I suppose. I would think Wombat- equally obscure to Americans, but maybe you could just call it the Devil and use the Disney character on it.

Maybe it should be called a Lutz

I agree...if GM was once again going to resort to nose clips and rebadging, I think it would have made much better sense on many levels to give it a nose clip derived visually from the new Malibu and launch it as the Chevy El Camino. Not to seems to me to be a waste of a hallowed heritage and name plate while adding a confusing element to Pontiac's already less than stellar line up. Regardless of the name though, it may help GM's CAFE numbers while offering people a hauler that is not some behemoth based on overkill...who needs a giant truck for your average Home Depot run?

You must have missed the fact the he could already have a powerful truck/ute. He doesn't have to wait for them.

I can see it being named simply 'Pontiac G8 Ute'.

I hope so. If Ute is disrespectful to the Indigenous population of Utah then Pontiac G8 Utility.

Quite possibly but it probably looks like two square blocks of wood nailed together and has the fuel economy of an Abrahams - I don't have to wait either they sell them here now, both Ford & Holden make similar V8 Utes.

All I can say is that it should sell as many as they can send over.

You are incorrect! It is a car-truck. That is a simple fact. It will ride, handle, stop, Etc. just like a car, but it can haul many or most of teh loads medium and full-sized pickup trucks haul.

Re: NYIAS 08: 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck

This is my first post, so I hope it makes an impact.

First of all, you must market the vehicle. Period no exceptions!
+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

End the commercial with: Ute! now at your local Pontiac dealer, because Aussies can't have all the fun!

I do have one of the very first firebirds to roll off the assembly line, and one of the first of the last model year 02 WS6 T/A. I am a Pontiac fan period. If you are considering global platforms, then consider this as a replacement for the Firebird. It's a Holden A60 Coupe

This is one of the nicest cars that I have seen in a long time. Very nice touch with the seat harnesses and side exit exhaust.

If you build it they will come. The price must also work with demographics and peoples incomes.

Re: NYIAS 08: 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck

- Why not call that thingie from down under the "GR8-UTE" . We can also bring back Tony the Tiger to promote it ......
- Now for you Firebird / Trans Am fans - Why couldn't GM modify the new Camero bodystyle to create a Pontiac version { make them all T-Tops and paint them all red ** for the people who will not buy Chevrolet - well mostly all red...........
