This is the biggest waste of money I've ever seen GM + Pontiac do, I mean besides the Torrent GXP, G5, All the Grand Prix Special Editions, Aztek. We do no need this vehicle. Period.

According to the initial press release, they are pulling an SSR with this -- automatic only. So, I filled out the "comment" thingy on Pontiac.com, and this is the response I got:

At this time, Pontiac has made no official announcement about offering a manual transmission for the 2010 G8 Sport Truck. We have documented your interest and will forward your comments to the appropriate department so they may have an effect on future models.

I'm very disappointed. They have until mid-2010 to rectify this, or I'll be looking at a Z28 Convertible.

I have all ways wanted an El Camino but looking at the pics @
http://www.evolutionendshere.com.au it just dose not look right with the center counsel.

I hope that the bench would be an option, I just could not justify spending that much money on a daily driver that I couldn't at least cram my family in if I had to.

Commander and Alpha are already taken by Jeep and Hummer. Those are perfect for a 400 horsepower truck.

As far as animals....Goat (I don't think everyone will get it) is okay for a truck. I also think that the Aussie Toyota Highlander name, Kluger, is a cool word for a truck (or a weapon).

Since Pontiac is an indian name, then let's go with Apache or something.

I think El Camino would be a great name for this truck if it were a Chevy...the marketing will be covered by the name of the vehicle (unlike SSR, which sounds like a sports package to some other Chevrolet).
