Exactly! Also they said it was only a tad heavier and that the performance numbers shouldn't change.

That's actually pretty interesting. I have to say in this case, being cheaper actually resulted in a better car!

I'll take a targa over a coupe any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Hmmm ... I wonder if the coupe will maintain the silver A-pillar/windshield frame that the convertible has.

Solstice Hardtop will be revealed at the New York Auto Show

The Hard Top Solstice will be revealed at the Auto in New York. See link with picture.

In the mean time because of excessive inventories of the convertible Solstice, the Plant will eliminate the 3rd shift in April and layoff about a third of the Plant.

Re: NYIAS 08: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe

I was at the press conference with 50 cent but didn't get close. Joe Wiesenfelder did and the depressing part is the hardtop can't fit in the cargo area. The cargo area is really small and obviously luggage will block your view.

more of his reporting about aerodynamics, him removing the roofs etc.

Re: NYIAS 08: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe

It's the poor man's vette! I think it's great. Very good for Pontiac, it is a car that anyone can own, and it's sweet looking. The Solstice convertible is the best, but this is a little more practical. Would be nice to have a back seat, but the porportions would be all off if they did that. 2 seats will have to do, this will make a young guy or gal a nice first new car to drive to their new job after they are out of college. Or, a nice weekend runabout for the person wanting a toy they can have fun with when the family isn't with them. I really think this is an amazing vehicle, and it's rear drive, so EVERYONE should be happy with that.

Re: NYIAS 08: 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe

I love that it has a removable top, I've always liked targa tops. I passed on a very nice Trans Am when I was shopping for mine because it was a hard top. I love my cars t-tops and I take them off all the time. If it were a fixed non-removable roof I wouldn't be interested in it.

All this whining, it's like being upset that Jessica Alba can't cook but she can't keep her hands off you.

Pontiac now has so many new exciting cars that they should have ads like the 80's. Check out this link, this is when Pontiac had great ads, and you were excited to own a Pontiac:
