Re: Revealed: 2009 LS3 Pontiac G8 GXP!

I think this looks way better than the HSV...More of a sleeper car, but I'd rather wait for the 6-speed to trickle down to the GT or even base models for me to consider one.

Awesome car! right in so many ways.

Just needs to be priced right for the brand to be a revelation to sports sedan enthusiasts..

35 would be great.
That and a New slogan to help bring in said sport sedan enthusiasts. Anything as long as its better than the robotic sounding "Pontiac Is Car" campaign

Re: Revealed: 2009 LS3 Pontiac G8 GXP!

Its still going to run the Charger SRT-8 into the ground. The only thing that I'm not liking on the car, is the placement of the GXP badge. Its below the passenger side mirror. It should be on the door, like on any Pontiac before it.

I too was hoping for a few more horsepower and a bit more distinctive look. If the price differential is very large, I don't see much of a reason to not just get the GT.

I don't understand why everyone is getting mad about the horse power. They have not released any official numbers yet for people to get mad about. The GT can stomp the R/T line up so I am sure the GXP will stomp the SR/T. Plus I am sure the LS3 is a better performer than the 6.0l in the GT and not just in horse power.

Re: Revealed: 2009 LS3 Pontiac G8 GXP!

Do we know what the other Pontiac offering is going to be at the autoshow?
So far we have a set of wheels and the motor the car should have come with in the first place ( the G8GXP )

And ugly arse version of the G8 with a useless bed.

And lemme guess the hardtop solstice that looks aweful.

WOW...

Ok. Now GM focus on a cars that people might buy.

I'd like a vehicle a little shorter than the G6, RWD, a bit lighter with the 3.6 v6 in it, and a stick. I'd buy it for $25k...

I don't need every amenity, I wan't a fun daily driver with performance potential.

That is all.

What's the difference between the Vortec 6.2 and the LS3?

Re: Revealed: 2009 LS3 Pontiac G8 GXP!

Why could they have not done a GTP with the LS3 and then a year later do a GXP with the CTS-V's blown 6.2l.

I could picture a slight horse power bump in the LS3 and different body parts like people want and call it Comp G like the Grand Prix, but I am sure that will not happen. Maybe limited numbers in a special model.

I'm betting she'll cost 38-40K just like it's competition the Charger SRT8.
