    Next up on the 2013 Detroit Auto Show embargo-break-a-palooza: the Honda Urban SUV Concept. Thanks to Indian Autos Blog, we now have the first press shots of the small crossover concept – a vehicle that will someday make it to production, riding on the Honda Fit platform.

    It may have some big features – namely, the large headlamps, big wheels, and bold body lines – but the Urban SUV Concept will compete with smaller vehicles like the Nissan Juke or Fiat 500L. Indian Autos Blog reports that both 1.6- an 1.8-liter four-cylinder engines are being speculated for use in the production model, as well as a diesel powerplant for foreign markets.

    That's all we know for now, but stay tuned to see the full smattering of official images and details as part of this week's Detroit coverage.

    Full article and images at link.

    Like I said before, the Japanese can't build attractive vehicles anymore.

    I really don't like where a lot of these new styling trends are headed, if they are indeed headed anywhere...

    Hopefully we are simply caught in some transitional phase where designers are experimenting;
    and obviously struggling to evolve new cohesive surface designs and aesthetics that actually work...

    I think the surfaces are fine. It's that hideous front end and grill that kill it.

    I actually like it. It's the first Honda in a long time I can say that about!

    Apparently the designer of the Acura ZDX never got fired.

    While I think the concept headlights and grille are way too busy, I really like the side swoop thingy. I just wonder if where it meets the D pillar in that deep "cup" does not cause a lot of drag. And I don't mean Ru Paul.

    +1. The side profile is pretty good and it fits well with the CR-V - but that Accord Hybrid "face" (and wheels from the Accord PHEV), eesh.

    On that note...what do we think, is the front better than the Nissan Juke, or worse?

    I wondered, if there some folks who put a challenge to draw something more uglier then the Juke front end?

    The Morono isn't as fastbacked is it?

    Between that huge freight-train prow in front and the knock-your-head back door opening, Honduh is focusing on both the wrong features.

    Sochiro, listen to me. Look at me! This needs better aero in front, and a bigger, better, more passenger-friendly box in back.

    The KIA Soul aft of the A pillar is about right, but KIA forgot to check the wind tunnel doods in order to get Cd below .42. Result? One reason MPG ain't what it otter B.
