Re: NAIAS: 09 Toyota Venza

With the Highlander growing to three rows (although smaller than the Lambda), I can see the place for this vehicle. It's probably more substantial than the RAV4 and a good match for the Edge and Murano in the middle ground. I think it looks better than the Edge, which always reminds me of a turtle.

Re: NAIAS: 09 Toyota Venza

I see a lot of Pacifica in that car.

And I thought it was supposed to seat 7.

It looks like a station wagon, though.

Re: NAIAS: 09 Toyota Venza

The grille is ugly, the front resembles the Edge, and the rest of the exterior is ok.

Don't forget the FJ Cruiser! And this is sooo ugly, it looks like its crouching and should stand higher.

Re: NAIAS: 09 Toyota Venza

This thing doesn't even look like it's TRYING to be a crossover. It looks like a camry station wagon with the front lights ripped off from Ford's Edge and a taillight cluster without any coherency, or lines and flow. It's just an ugly booty station wagon. (estimated sales performance 5,000,000,0001/2 units per year, it DOES say Toyota on the front after all. Plus it's so reliable. Oh my god, it's soooo reliable. You don't even have to do oilchanges. It's just so reliable. Toyota, excuse my, "Toyodah" is just so reliable. Mhmh so reliable. Oh my gosh. Mh.)

The FJ is a full-fledged SUV, not a crossover. It competes with the H3, Xterra, etc.

The Venza...I don't know. I like wagons, but must agree with the majority on the looks of this thing.

Exactly what I was thinking!!! Either the ford edge or the new Taurus X... either way Ford wants their design back.

GASP! I agree with CobaltSScrazy! Of course his use of the ignore feature means he'll never know.

I don't hate it. I just don't understand the point. It's like Toyota's R-Class.

JDM version (Mark X Zio) does have a mini 3rd row. Who knows, maybe it will be added someday.

The FT-SX concept came out a couple of years ago, hsd the same greenhouse and similar grille/taillights.

We are in the midst of a HUGE switch of consumer buying away from SUVs to other vehicles. All the vehicle makers are replacing their BOF lineups with unibody lineups.

Crossover/wagons will be the new focus of every maker.

This replaces nothing it fills out the lineup beginning with the xB to the Matrix to the RAV to the Venza to the Highlander to the Lexus RX

It's looks like the original RX300 to me also. Same chassis size, simlar body styling.

Unfortunately for the Pacifica it was about 7 years too early as the US consumer was still in it's love affair with the SUV....and it was being directed by DaimlerChrysler.

Now that consumers are giving SUVs the cold shoulder the Pacifica launched this year would probably be Chrysler's new star. C'est la vie.

Re: NAIAS: 09 Toyota Venza

People should just get over themselves - if you need a wagon, drive a wagon. It makes no sense to haul around that much body and weight (in the big wheels alone) just so it doesn't look like you're driving a wagon or minivan.

Kind of looks like a mash between the Pacifica, Edge and Taurus X. Rear 3/4 view is nice.
