Re: NAIAS 09: 2010 Cadillac SRX
Silly. The side vents aren't vertical.

Re: NAIAS 09: 2010 Cadillac SRX
I like it, however I still think it has too many VUE cues, especially on the profile. The downward leaning character line, the fender vent, and the rear angled roof and D pillar. I hope it's also a performer and will give the new and FUGLY RX a run for it's money!
PS, Somebody get GM some photographers! The airbrush/black backgrounds are getting old!

Re: NAIAS 09: 2010 Cadillac SRX
Hmmm.
Looks great except for FWD being an option. Don't mind the transverse engine, but very disappointed to not see AWD as standard. FWD should have been a SAAB only option. This goes against what Cadillac should stand for. Competing with the RX 350 or the MDX is not a good way forward - even if this appears to be the better vehicle.

I also like Caddie's new tail-lamp trend, quazi fins. Nice touch. They especially look good on the CTS coupe and wagon.

Re: NAIAS 09: 2010 Cadillac SRX
really looks good IMO, like others was hoping to see the LaCrosse.
So far GM is 2/2 first with the Equinox and now the SRX, throw in the LaCrosse and the Terrain and GM is really starting to put some solid product out. |

Re: NAIAS 09: 2010 Cadillac SRX
I really like the design...its a great transfer of the terrific CTS styling to a crossover, good job GM on the design. And that 2.8 Turbo looks very promising!
I do have a couple problems though. No third row! FWD! it was RWD ![]() And those back seats dont look good, they have a very boring design. |

Like it but those wheels are butt ugly.
Of course, that's easily curable...

This should be named Buick Rendezvous. The Sigma SRX should have been redesigned to be shorter in length, taller in height, and aimed squarely at the MB ML. They would retain current SRX customers, continue to chip away at conquest sales, and establish a real NAME for the SRX as a luxury product. Instead, the product is dramatically changed, current SRX owners turn up their noses, and Cadillac just has to hope they can attract some Lexus RX owners who happen to be origami enthusiasts. It's like the original SRX was just a waste of time.

Re: NAIAS 09: 2010 Cadillac SRX
Not to be too grumpy, but haven't we already seen this?
I hope it sells, but it won't be to me. It's, well, over done it seems to me. Funny. I really liked the "concept" shown last year. Why don't care for the production version? Hate those wheels. Those vertical me-too "vents" scream "FORD FOCUS!" I do like the interior, though.

Pretty much, I called most of everything. Engine lineups... FWD... and a number of other things. And does the SRX have a backup camera?? If Cadillac wants to go for volume, this is probably the car to do it with. However, don't expect prestige or sophistication or luxury image to be helped along by this car. It's simply a car that SHOULD NOT exist in the Cadillac lineup. It's a big mistake. If Cadillac wanted a FWD luxury CUV, then by all means, give it to Buick. Like I've always said, Cadillac needs to be RWD and concentrate on luxury and sophistication. What we have here is nothing more than an Acura with a Cadillac wreath and crest. This SRX proves one thing... Cadillac has ZERO focus as to what the brand is and should be. And I actually don't believe this car will sell well or up to expectations. There are better styled, more sophisticated FWD CUV's on the road. Put this thing next to an RX Pebble Beach Edition... and you'll see why the SRX will not be taken seriously. Really? It's sharing the platform with a Saab. It's going to have a turbo engine somewhere in the lineup. GM would be smart to continue the proliferation of turbo engines across the global lineup -- especially in North America -- to tell you the truth.
