I see so much Mercedes here. This interior is drop-dead gorgeous and looks like it would hold up forever. Love those seats.

So in other words, this is what it should have looked like to begin with?

Re: NAIAS 08: VW Passat CC

I think it's fair to say that since the toureg or however you spell it VW has pushed it's products more an more into the premium sector.
In Europe this is possible as most see volkswagen as a good quality vehicle worthy of the 'premium' set against it.
Audi on the other hand has also notched up into the entry level luxury class, with the likes of Bentley and bugatti topping off the full porfolio.
What VW or VAG has at their disposal is Skoda and Seat as entry/mainstream brands to cover the segment the Volkswagen brand has made.
I guess Skoda and Seat do not ship to North America.... YET...

Re: NAIAS 08: VW Passat CC

Of course, with their US sales in a nose dive, the plan is supposedly to reposition VW as a value brand - contrary to everything they've been pushing for 20 years, their current crop of customers expect and this car represents. Maybe if they'd figure out the reliability part of the car business and develop sales channels responsive to customer needs, they wouldn't have sales issues at their current position.

Hahaha I just noticed something. Look at the center seat of the rear bench. Imagine sitting on that.

Re: NAIAS 08: VW Passat CC

I priced up a standard Passat VR6 4Motion to $40,500. The Passat CC is supposed to be on top of the range. Ouch.
