Re: NAIAS 08: Toyota A-Bat

I know how they named this:

Designer 1: "Hey look, ive come up with a design for a new truck...type...thing....but it needs a name."

Designer 2: "Holy god thats ugly...what the heck do you do with something like that?"

Designer 3 surfing the net, takes a glance: "Geez....I'd hit it......"

Designer 2: "You'd hit it??"

Designer 3: "Yeah I'd hit it...."

<other 2 looks at each other dumbfounded>

Designer 3 " ....with....a Bat"

Designer 2: "A bat?"

Designer 3: "You know, a baseball bat"

Designer 1: "A bat....abat....A-BAT!!!! MAN YOU'RE A GENIUS!!!"

Toyota management guy comes into the conversation and looks at the truck: "...."

Designer 1: "Oh uh....sir, i present to you, the Toyota ABAT"

Toyota management guy: "IT SELL MEERREONS!!! PUT ON DISPRAY AT AUTO SHOW!!!"

The sad part is that no matter how ugly it is, as long as it has a sombrero on the grille, people will buy it!

2 points

Midgate-The use of a trademarked name hints to a deal. Maybe they are paying a royalty for the use of the design.

A-Bat - To me, this means AUQUABATS! A great band!
