Re: NAIAS 08: Mazda Furai

Wow... this is a Mazda?! Except for the concept styling cues here and there it actually looks good... never thought that I would see the day I would say that... but, it actually looks good...

Looks awesome.

Are you referring to the current design cheif at Mazda USA who designed the Solstice?

I think yes, Holzhausen

Looks like a gym shoe.

When car companies put out concept cars, isn't the idea to sniff the public's reaction for production ideas? This looks like "pimp my ride" meets GTP race car.

Well, I for one like it -- and totally hate the RX-8 and most everything else coming out of Mazda these days.

Some people can't give credit where credit is due...and its definitely due here. This is a work of art, that looks like it would be at home on the streets of Miami or on the track at Circuit de la Sarthe during the 24 Hours of Lemans. Let's hope this is the new RX-7.

Re: NAIAS 08: Mazda Furai

I do not like this car at all, you would think with Ford's money trouble Mazda would only be allowed to show concept cars that have a hope for production and not spend money on concept vehicles that are impossible to produce and not attractive. When will Mazda give us a concept vehicle that actually looks like it could be produced?

Do those flamed surfaces have aerodynamic function on a race car?
