Re: NAIAS 08: HUMMER HX Concept
I love it. I think HUMMER could really use something like this to compete with the Wrangler/FJ Cruiser. The H3 is just simply to big and expensive.

Re: NAIAS 08: HUMMER HX Concept
Hummers have always looked good... I will reserve my judgment until a production version is finally shown. All i know is if GM does the I-5 again........ they will have blown another great opportunity

Re: NAIAS 08: HUMMER HX Concept
Its perfect except for one HUGE problem. The press release makes no mention of a manual tranny! Auto only?! If it came in at or less than jeep wrangler money, it might be worth looking at.

Re: NAIAS 08: HUMMER HX Concept
That is definately B.A. It would make a nice compliment to the proposed pickup truck.

I don't honestly think Wranglers are overpriced. For the utility and prowess they possess, it's not a bad price tag. Additionally, getting rid of the SE doesn't help the overall price (but I'm sure they were eliminated for a reason). Especially considering that nearly anything else is at least 25K, I don't think the Wrangler is a bad deal. In fact, it suits my purposes quite well. Off-road capability, 4X4 (for some nice snow/winters), plus convertible? It doesn't get much better than that...at least in Colorado. ![]() *EDIT: I shouldn't say anything else is 25K...but I certainly think that 20-30K is the norm. I wonder what the average spending on a car is in North America? Or median, for that matter.

Yes, I have seen an H1 flex. (the suspension, not the body-the body's not supposed to flex) They have tremendous articulation. An independant suspension has much greater potential for articulation than a solid axle does. Solid axles are just cheaper.
