Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Mazda RX-8

I may be in the minority, but I adore it! I liked the car when it was first introduced, but it just wasn't quite right. This refresh makes it look awesome.

Yeah, but it's a menacing "Get in if you want to have fun" look.

This looks more aggressive than the happy faced current model, but I don't really like either. The RX8 never appealed to me and still doesn't.

Put a bar in the middle of that grill and you would have your chevy Kappa.

Looks great and has the handling to go along with it. Just needs more power. I think the magazines have been complaining about that too.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Mazda RX-8

Mazda needs to go back to the previous RX-7 design. That was a classic vehicle. The RX-8 is borderline atrocious.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Mazda RX-8

I think the RX has lost it's way...although a lot of that might be the vaporizing market for small sporty cars. I think cars in this market segment are too pricey for the 18-30ish age bracket they are mostly marketed to.

I've never really liked the RX-8 except for the first 10 mins I saw it. I just cant get past the poor rear proportions. There was some robot on some movie who's head and eyes popped up all the time (it's going to kill me trying to think of it now) that looks like it was from the same design school.

On a side note, I thought this thread was titled RX-9

Same old same old. That interior is pretty cool though - save the controls on the door.

Mild update? Ho hum. Also, I'm not digging the circle theme in the center of the radio stack.
