Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
I wonder how the rear design will change for production as I seriously doubt the production version will be more than a four seater, and I don't see how there's headroom in the concept for a third row.
Lincoln has had a lot of stunning concepts and thus far none have emerged unscathed into production. |

Don't like the back on a profile view, but the rear end (straight on) looks cool. Love the interior and B-pillar forward.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
it's a better interpretation of French flop that was called Renault Vel Satis.
I like the MKT concept...But I loved the previous Lincoln concepts as well and only one is being produced today. So don't be so excited.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
I knew there would be large Lincoln crossover making an appearance soon, but after seeing this I was expecting something...else. It's very impressive. Eye catching and opulent.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
Absolutely beautiful concept. I am sure it will turn into a least a five seater for production. Well if it reminds anyone of an Oldsmobile design theme, at least you don't have to worry about GM doing anything like that.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
Not to worry guys... both Peter Horbury and Alan Mullally have said we won't be seeing any more pie in the sky, non production concepts, so this is definitely being built, and closer to the concept than you think.
The main difference, is that in production form, this becomes a 7-seater, just like the Flex, and it gets a real-world interior. Otherwise, this is pretty much what we're going to see in showrooms in about 12-18 months time. |

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
I don't like the side profile. Or the concept really. When have station wagons (thats what it is) sold well in the US?
BUT its the first interior from all of FOrds family, that is actually nice. Lincoln needs to move away from the chunkiness that it is, and leave that to Ford.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
I like it, it's simply stunning, modern, and sexy. I hope it all translates to production form. Really impressed with how different this looks from the Flex on which it's based (which to me looks like Spongebob Sqaurepants on roller skates).
Two nitpicks though: 1. A Lincoln this beautiful deserves an equally beautiful Lincoln nameplate, and Lincoln has alot of names that they could choose from. This MK stuff just isn't cutting it for me; hard to connect the initials to the product. Would settle for Mark T though, oh well. 2. Small children and some adults may be afraid to stand near it for fear of being eaten or chased and then the MKT could potentially show up in nightmare land to wreak havoc......I'm just sayin'. Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Lincoln MKT Concept
The front end is really overdone. Man, how can people find this attractive? It looks like it has lock-jaw.
This picture is great though: ![]() ...could it be any more aryan?
