NAIAS 08: 2009 Lexus LF-A Roadster

The Lexus supercar, the LF-A, is going topless. In one of the rare surprises to sneak past our auto show spies, TheCarConnection.com has learned Toyota 's luxury division will be rolling out a roadster version of the carbon-fiber and aluminum sports car concept vehicle.

Like the concept coupe, that debuted last year, the LF-A Roadster will be powered by a high-revving, 5.0-liter V-10 reportedly producing in excess of 500 horsepower, and pushing either version of the LF-A to somewhere in excess of 200 mph.

The front-mid engine configuration is used to drive the rear wheels. The V-10 is connected to a manually shiftable automatic.

It is pretty nice looking, but seems a little dated - I think it just as easily could have been designed in 2001.

I like the SC430 better. Hopefully, it'll be getting an update of its own soon.

That exterior has been sanitized to the point where it's insipid. I'm sure it's fast, but would a little bit of design flair have hurt?

Looks like a 350Z convertible...

Not bad looking, but certainly not stunning. I see a lot of 350Z in it myself (a car who's styling doesn't do anything for me at all).

A bit on the conservative side but definitely not bad looking at all. I hope that ricer spoiler doesn't come standard. Looks tacky on a $100,000 car. I was looking at the final specs on this car. Horspower is supposedly around 550 and top speed is about 210 mph.

I like it a lot, but it should be a Toyota Supra and not a Lexus.

If they could keep the price under 60 grand, this car would be a bargain but i don't know if people will line up to pay six figure price for this.

Yes, it actually reminds me a lot of the Supra; in fact a redesigned Supra.
