I believe that it has a retractable shade that would allow one to cover all, none, or some of the glass roof. With the shade closed, it would be like having a regular roof.

With the ever increasing size of moon/sun roofs, I wonder how much longer it will be until everyone is offering an option like this. Heck the super sunroof on the new CTS is almost there. I think this would be nice in the northern climates.

I think that it woulda been great to see in 2005...but a little interest invested towards the current models end isnt so bad. I suppose.

Why not just a regular sunroof? Dumb decision...

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Ford Mustang Glass Roof

This is pretty damn cool, and the world raved about the glass roof in the Giugiaro Concept. Some people just won't like a Ford, on principle. These people aren't car enthusiasts, they're bots.

Anyway, I can see some arse frying leather seats and cracked interior trim. Too bad a polarised glass roof would double the cost. Still, it would be amazing to drive under glass.

There is a shade that blocks the sun entirely if you so desire. Been mentioned many times.

Re: NAIAS 08: 2009 Ford Mustang Glass Roof

As someone who would never ever buy a Mustang, nor would he take one if given to him, no matter the trim level, this is a cool option.
There is a little cover that will shade you, but I hope its a ridged cover, not a little flappy shade. I can see over time the shade starting to fail, start to fall apart, then its sheer sunlight all the time.

With that said, Id like to see some sort of glass roof type option on Camaro. Maybe in tribute to Ttops, twin glass roofs above the passangers heads that go the full length of the roof, and fold inwards to the center bar.

Why? This Camaro is styled after the 1st gens, which didn't have T-roofs. They are sticking with the tried and true sunroof.

It is a car that from my perpecitve got dated quickly. The wow factor didn't last long.

Considering the fragility of this segment mustang has done very well sales wise, i will be watching with interest over the next 3 years to see how the new camaro and charger are selling once the 'wow' factor has dropped also.

Love the design, makes up for no Sunroof option.

Ingenious name that. Mustang Glass Roof

Next will be the Taurus Climate Control, F150 tailgate and the Focus blind owner.
