    LAIAS 2012: 2014 KIA Forte

KIA has revealed the US version of the 2014 Forte. While we saw foreign market versions of the car earlier in the year, the US spec version offers a closer look at what we can expect for the Forte on our shores. The new Forte will hit dealers in early 2013 and will be powered by either a 1.8 liter 148 hp four cylinder engine or a 2.0 liter 173 hp engine. click past the jump for high res photos and the full press release.

I wonder what it looked like before it was side-swiped?

I hate to say it, but while it looks good, it's too similar to the Hyundai Elantra

Since the Elantra's quite lethargic 1.8 liter does not get it's claimed fuel economy Hyundai may as well offer the 2.0 to compensate for the utter lies they told their buyers.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

It's a Cee'd sedan. And the Cee'd is strikingly handsome in kitted-out trims, as much as I hate Kia and the proliferation of the model in lieu of more interesting compacts such as the C4. I think it is going to do well, unless Kia screwed something I can't see.

I like it—like all of Kia's new models it has the equivalent Hyundai's swoopy profile, which I like, without all the baroque detailing.

it looks like a car to "put the hurt" on the Corolla and Civic and probably get some Cruze/foci buyers attention

but the interior looks like something from the 90's early 2000's

The Exterior looks great, to me as good as anything in the segment now, but the interior just doesn't do it for me.

Still like the current one's design better.

Steering wheel needs more buttons on it.

Or maybe a detuned 2.0 turbo version like the Ford ecoboost Focus ST. At least Hyundai and Kia full line has been tested, which is more than I can stay for others. You even get a gas car for the difference. Hopefully others except responsibility and follow their example. I'll be waiting on mine from GM as I'm sure many other 4 cylinder Equinox/Terrain owner.

I'm happy to say and or report that Honda's 06 Acura TL in real world conditions are meeting and or exceeding claimed highway mileage....

The American auto companies will have nothing to worry about if the foreign companies keep making these ugly cars. It really looks like it got sideswipe.

I hat how they copy VW, BMW, and Ford in almost every design. Still the inside looks great but not the outside so much.

The Nike swoosh in the doors looks odd but overall not bad for a cheaper car.
