Has anyone seen a mention of price? My initial guess is 38 for a LS and 45k for a fully loaded LT.

REDESIGNED 2007 CHEVY TAHOE IS THE BEST YET

Superior ride, handling and quietness

The 2007 Tahoe is built on GM’s new full-size SUV platform, which incorporates features such as a new, fully boxed frame, coil-over-shock front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and an all-new, premium interior system that bolster the vehicle’s comfort, quality and capability. Wider front and rear tracks enhance handling and lower the center of gravity for a more confident road feel.

Extensive attention to detail was paid by Tahoe’s engineers to ensure a quiet driving experience. It starts with a new, stiffer frame, which reduces vibrations transmitted to the passenger cabin. The strength and accuracy of the full-boxed frame also enables more precise mounting and tuning of chassis and suspension components, which also helps reduce vibration. Even the tires on the large, 17-inch standard and 20-inch available wheels, were designed to reduce noise.

Noise-reducing components and materials are used throughout the body structure, including the headliner material, door seals and front-of-dash area. The engine also features a quiet-tuned alternator and an acoustically tuned engine cover that dramatically reduces engine noise heard inside the vehicle. New door seals help reduce seal “pull away” at highway speeds, which can cause wind noise. Also, Tahoe’s more slippery shape, thanks to improved aerodynamics, streamlined exterior mirrors and roof rack, and tighter body gap tolerances, makes Tahoe quieter as it slices through the air.

Tahoe also features details such as spray-in expanding foam, which helps reduce noise by filling in space to eliminate sound paths. The foam, located mostly in the A-pillars, expands to fill the void of a space.

First off I would like to say a great job done!

But the whole first part of that reading sounded so much like the 2004 F-150 to me it was SHOCKING!

We're not going to see the 6 speed in anything under 50Gs - its for the Denali and Escalade only, so you won't see it in a Chevy, or 95% of the 900s sold this year - thats a shame.

Re: GMT-900's: 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe Information

anyone know if the nav radio will allow CD's at the same time as the nav is working?? is there a factory option for a 6 cd changer or a set-up like current escalade or denai?
I hope they didn't make this mistake

Re: GMT-900's: 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe Information

sorry guys, found my answer

Radios

Tahoe offers an impressive new audio lineup; a choice of five, easy-to-operate radios – two with navigation capabilities – and two sound systems, including premium Bose sound. All radios are compatible with the enhanced Generation 6.1 OnStar® system and capable of XM Satellite Radio reception. All units provide a standard auxiliary input jack for external devices, such as a portable MP3 player or remote cassette player. The input allows for plug-and-play through the sound system.

The standard (LS and LT-1 models) ETR AM/FM stereo is capable of playing both CDs and MP3 formatted discs through a single-disc player. The radio is available with a standard high-quality, eight-speaker performance audio system or, on LT-1 and LT-2 models, with an optional nine-speaker Bose premium performance system with remote amplifier.

The nine-speaker Bose system is standard on LT-3 and LTZ. A radio with an in-dash six-CD changer is available on LS and LT-1; it is standard on LT-2, LT-3 and LTZ models. An uplevel Dual Play radio provides two separate, single-disc player slots for playing CD Audio and the DVD video for the rear seat entertainment system (see below).

Tahoe also offers a choice of two touch-screen DVD-based Navigation radios on LT-2, LT-3 and LTZ models. Each includes a large, 6.5-inch Active Matrix LCD display screen. The base Navigation radio includes an integral DVD slot for the map disc and a separate CD slot for music. (The other Navigation radio requires the Rear Seat Entertainment option and has two DVD slots; one for a map disc and the other for rear-seat entertainment.) Both radios instantly map routes with 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional full-color map views. The system supports an off-road mode for uncharted roads and provides a low fuel pop-up, which automatically begins to map out the nearest gas station(s) when the vehicle’s low fuel-warning indicator comes on. The navigation screen also doubles as the monitor for Tahoe’s available rear camera system.

Rear Seat Audio (RSA) is standard and provides new features for more flexible entertainment. RSA now allows second-row passengers to plug in headphones, adjust audio volume and listen to a variation of the same type of audio source as the front-seat occupant or an entirely separate source. RSA interfaces with the optional DVD Rear Entertainment System (RSE). The RSE system provides one remote and two infrared wireless headphones.

Re: GMT-900's: 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe Information

I recently got a preview of the new 07 Tahoe at the CA International Auto Show in Anaheim. The SUV looks great and while I didn't get inside the vehicle, the interior is where the dramatic improvements are evident. I can only hope that the build quality stands up to the test of time but the aesthetics of the new interior have finally made it into the 21st century.
The exterior design is nice (I prefer the Tahoe front end over the GMC Yukon but that is a personal preference and either is nice). The stated improvements in milage will obviously help out a segment that is being hard hit by the gouging currently going on at the pumps, and not a moment too soon.
The one thing I noticed that is a MAJOR disappointment to me is the design (of lack thereof) of the third row seeting. Come on GM get with the program here! The seats simply fold down in the same manner the current models do. I don't know about most people but I prefer a "fold flat" design that would allow the seats to become a level part of the floor in the rear space when the seats are folded down -such as the Ford Expedition. To me this is an obvious design oversight or a blatant way of shaving dollars off the price of the vehicles. Please charge me a few bucks more and make the back area more functional!
Otherwise nice job on the SUV redesign, for a full size SUV, it will likely be the outright leader in the class.

Re: GMT-900's: 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe Information

I drank the Toyota Kool-Aid and traded an 02 Escalade (purchased new in 02) for a Lexus GX470. That is the middle sized Lexus. It is supposed to get 15 city and 19 hiway and it only gets 14 combined. This thing sucks! The old Escalade got 13.6 and it was much bigger. The Lexus will be sold and I will own the new Escalade. GM will come back. These foreign cars are all hype.
