Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

I am absolutely puzzled as to why this vehicle is not a Pontiac! It is agressive in the way the G8 should have been. It would make sooo much more sense as a Pontiac, but as a GMC, I'm still loving it!

Actually I didn't shorten it at all. I just took the pic of the Hybrid Concept and cut the back off to make the Ute bed. I then enlarged the wheel arch openings (which probably makes it look shorter) and put in my bigger wheels, which I had made from Chevy truck wheels, Dodge Ram centers and the black-out paint job.

Oh, and made the rear door a short suicide door and the front door longer. ...plus some other stuff.

Well Pontiac is now GM's performance division (supposed to be at least), and this doesn't have too many sporty features. On the other hand, it looks like a very capable but small truck, which is what GMC needs.

Somebody at GM really likes the Ford Interceptor.

I nearly fell over when I saw this thing. It makes a strong first impression. A bad one. I'm beginning to warm up to it a little though.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

That is a great looking concept and if it makes it into production I wouldn't want it to change much at all. I also hope other future GMC's take their design cues from this.

Anyone see a bit of Buick Enclave in those front fenders?

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

I just posted B-Roll video footage of the Denali XT here:

http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/auto...ixt/broll.html

I think it gives a better perspective of the vehicle than any still shot could.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

I've taken several "time outs" to avoid a hasty reaction, but I don't like this much. I really, really want to like this vehicle.

I think a market segments exists for this type of truck product, but this rendition just doesn't excite me. The wheels appear to be sourced for a rap video rather than for real use, and look way too large.

This vehicle also seems be struggling to include both angular and rounded styling cues, which to me, just aren't blending well, especially with the massive wheel arches.

I'm trying to like this, but no, I really don't.
