Hmm...I kinda like it. Not a big fan of the tires, fender flares, or tailgate, but other than that, it's not bad...

And like someone said, this is a concept. It only shows what some bored GMC design engineer came up with one day on his lunch break.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled

I am very interested in this engine. Will this see production? Could this be a one off idea? If so, how did they build it? That would be a one off crank or engine block if that is the case.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled

Any one notice how much the interior is resembles the Camaro? Wonder if the 4.9L won't be the Camaro's entry V8?

Oh yeah...ohhhhh yeah, I was thinking that. 326hp and 370ftlbs sounds right. They did say they wanted to indroduce this DI technology on a big car like Camaro.

How about the rear window sliding into the mid-gate (like the Envoy XUV) with a crossbar across the middle to maintain strength - I realize this would compromise the utility of the mid-gate but think it would retain enough to satisfy most buyers, it would also eliminate the need to stop and get into the back seat to remove the rear window. The one drawback would be that you could not put the mid-gate down without lowering the rear window, however GM could offer a "removable" rear window (stowed and used like the Avalanches) for those who need to haul something long but want to keep the window in place.

Re: Revealed: GMC Denali XT Four-Door Crewman-Styled Ute Concept Breaks Cover!!!

The more I look at it, the more I like it. Way better then the Toy A-bat, and yet refined. The interior has some Camaro pieces to it, and the steering wheel also looks like it was from the left overs of the Camaro concept.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled

This is right up there on my list of worst concepts ever.

As an El Camino, Holden Ute, and Holden Crewman fan I can say without a doubt that this XT concept is both hugely disappointing and amazingly ugly. I hope GM has the good sense not to go through with producing something this wildly stupid looking and tainting GMC's otherwise good brand image with it.

The VE Ute Holden currently produces looks so much better it's not even funny. I can't imagine if this were produced and shipped to Australia that anyone would buy it.

Still not a big fan of the fender flares/massively oversized tires...but everything else is starting to look pretty nice. It doesn't look too high like the A-Bat did, everything's proportional except those fender flares/tires.

The front fascia looks a lot like the Volt's too.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled

The XT Crewman is definately Bad. I like the fact that GM shoved in the 3.6 DI with another row of cylinders; it will probably replace the Northstar.

I think the Crewman would work with the 2.9 diesel, but for America, if it is produced, the hybrid 4.9 may be an option and may get near 30mpg; probably 28/28.

Hell I could make a window if that was the case. For my AV I made a screen rear window for camping and a spare window from some leftover plexiglass from a jobsite. (was used as a temp window on the job, general contractor gave me it when the glass for the building came in)

As others have posted, it is ugly, but IMHO I like the outside styling, but the dash and center console are horrid..

If you look at my post in the crewman thread a couple days ago, I mentioned I would like a crewman with an adjustible air suspension for increased ground clearance off the beaten path, so it fits the bill for me there.

As it sits, I would take the VE Maloo over this concept when it comes down to it though.
