No.

I've never said "the bike is in the back of the pickup", I'm never going to say "the bike is in the back of the Ute" because the bike will always be "in the back of the truck" even if two years from now I am driving some kind of Crewman variant(which seems like a pretty good idea) instead of a Canyon.

Face it, it is just one of those sometimes strange and even uncomfortable in texture things that let you know you've experianced something different; a unique slice of life.
^paraphrased from a great unknown Australian author^

You cannot have it both ways . We are supposed to be calling Pickups "Trucks" but you call Utes Trucks? from Google images a Pickup and Truck. So I will keep on calling your "trucks". Pickups and tractor Trucks..Trucks.
Then this is a Pickup

and this is a Truck

What is your problem with others having different terminology than you? Do you expect us to use "bonnet" and "boot" as well?

I've never asked to have it both ways, in fact in 19 pages I don't think anyone has.
The concept you are arguing against is a figment of your own imagination.
Call them whatever the hell you want on your end and stop trying to change ours.
My whole point is that every region is likely going to have it's own local variations and spin on things and that rather then trying to force the whole world into your own personal, narrow understanding of words, you would do well to learn that words can have different meanings then you are used to when they come from different cultures.
I've never seen anyone correct you when you use very obviously Australian terms so like I said when I first appraoched this subject, You need to get over yourself already.

Dude...give it up. You're not going to change what we call a truck and what we call a pickup. I personally say truck when referring to both a pickup truck and a semi-truck. I've even heard people refer to SUVs as trucks.
What's more, if a pickup truck was meant to be called a pickup, it wouldn't have the word truck behind it.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

A Ute is a Car/Utility it is not a Pickup or Truck. A Van is a Van not a Truck. So desist from calling a Ute a "Sports Truck"

Hey guys,

You know that Robert has the verbal tenacity and endurance of an Ethiopian Marathon runner, so if you keep poking him with a stick.......

As you all have an 'Ignore List' that could magically make Robert disappear from the forum for you if you wanted, I think that some of you just want to see how far he will persist.

And I'm afraid that may be as far as hospitalisation.

I really like it but, I think a "toned down version" would be better. However, I don't see this truck going into production.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

I think this is an unusual, yet practicul unit for the line-up. Could this be the Canyon Replacement? For some reason... this truck reminds me of the recently anounced HUMMER H3T, and from my understanding wasnt the HUMMER H3 built off of the Chevrolet/GMC Colorado/Canyon platform?

ohh just think of that outcome!!!
