Combine that with the large engine and you have a pretty good towing platform that is much lighter. That being said, take one up here to the midwest and use it on a farm and the thing probably isn't going to last long. Use it in Australia, the south/southwest, or just on Suburban streets and its a very good platform.
We may appear flat, but we have some pretty big speed bumps

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

I think that the styling and ideas that went into this one really show that GM is really think about the future to their trucks and truck buyers.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

This definitely looks better than anything on that comparison chart, and its hybrid technology sounds EXCELLENT. However, if they tone it down just a bit, not too much, but just bit, I think it'd be very well received. I don't know though, it would stand out very well, as is, so I am not fully decided on the styling. I mostly had assumed it was concept 'dress up' but it could work for production as well!

Reminds me of a Chrysler 300 with a truck bed, only taller.

I like it.

Maybe somebody could chop this into a Cadillac-looking concept.. Anyone?

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

Actually I kinda like it. I'd never buy it, but it looks cool. I'm sure it will be toned down for the production.

But guys. This V8 is awesome for power potential. Not only is it DI, but its E85 capable.

That would be awesome, running 18 psi on a high compression motor through a large turbo, this motor is 500WHP E85 pump capable, no question.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

Didn't wade through all the posts on pages 2 through 13, so forgive me if this is a repeat;
I just can't get past those gawd-awful rims!
With some more realistic rims and tires, I think this design has possibilities. While I kinda like the Ute and Crewman, I can see others want something that looks more massive and appears taller. Lets see what the buzz is after more folks have seen the concept.

it's okay. the front end looks very Q7ish to me. can't say i'd rather that over, say, an Avalanche though.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

The technology sounds right on but - OMG - where do I start with the styling? It's absolutely horrible. The worst GM design since the Aztek - and maybe worse. The rims, the Toyota rear doors, the headlights, the everything.

There must be something inexplicably hard about designing a uni-body truck, because the Ridgeline, the A-Bat, and Denali XT are all hideous.

I can see either Cadillac, Saturn, or/and Hummer getting versions of the XT.

Re: GMC Denali XT Concept Unveiled!

This is exactly the type of vehicle I am going to want to (eventually) replace my S-10. A small, relatively fuel efficient V-8, car like handling, AWD, and a bed for when I have to haul dirty stuff.

Build it, GM. You've got one future sale lined up after I pay off my 2011 Camaro.
