Yeah, the rear taillights aren't doing it for me either. They need to be a little bigger, and maybe a different shape.

That just made my night.

Also, so is the 3.6 DI the new base engine? Or now people have an option? That wasn't made clear.

They will probably have a stripped down LS model. Bring on the Black Granite on chrome 20's. That is what I want to see. I am excited that I get to sell this truck this summer!!!

one of the side views reminds me of an Envoy!! But I do see some Bu' styling along with Equinox looks. It does look good. but i'd like to see an LS interior.

No. The existing Lambdas get 528mi (845km) cruising (highway) range: 22 gallon tank x 24mpg = 528 mile range highway.

Whereas the other Lambdas uses a 3.6L V6 with MPFI, the Traverse uses a 3.6L V6 with direct-injection — upping both output and fuel economy. The Traverse is rated at 286 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque — 281 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque with a single-exhaust setup — up from the Lambda norm of 275 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque.
As opposed to the other 3.6 DI applications (300+ HP), it looks like this one is tuned for fuel economy. Will be interesting to see the results.

Your right, but GM training wants us to tell the customer over 450 miles on the Outlook. My buddy over at the BPG store said he was told the same thing with the Enclave & Acadia.. No more than 450.

Re: Chicago 08: 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

congrat GM...this is a hit! I acutally reallylike the styling of this...a solid crossover-esque type. I really, really wish that this could have gone to pontiac, but i know it makes more sense to give it too chevy. I'm gonna be looking for a family hauler here in the not too distant future, and these really look like a solid choice, but i'ma pontiac man =)

Re: Chicago 08: 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

It's decent enough in styling inside and out, but the interior - by the pics anyway - seem to definately show the cost difference in comparison to its 3 more spendy siblings.

Should be a hit none the less w/ the pricing!

And torque (which is the same thing as fuel economy under many driving conditions, especially with large, heavy vehicles).

Quote:
Ninety percent of the engine's peak torque is available from approximately 2,500 rpm to more than 6,000 rpm.
Perhaps this new torque curve will be even more discernible than the difference between the CTS's base 263hp 3.6L and its 304hp DI 3.6L. Based on their announced 500+ mile range, it only needs 22.73 mpg hwy ( = 500mi/22gallon gas tank of other Lambdas) to meet that. Seeing as the others get 22 and 24 mpg for FWD and AWD respectively, that isn't hard. I do hope to see at least a 1mpg improvement over the current numbers though.

Re: Chicago 08: 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

I see the DIC buttons have been moved to the center stack from just to the right of the wheel on the dash.

Also there is a key hole in the tail gate. Looks like it is integrated into the handle. Not currently on the Lambdas. That also doe snot look like a touch pad like the other lambdas. Is it manual?

Re: Chicago 08: 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

Pop up Nav? Where? Integrated switchgear? Huh?

This sucks for Saturn because I still think the Outlook looks better and the interior design is nicer on the eyes. Dam the Saturn marketing dept for not helping get it selling well in the market.

I really like the gauge cluster though, best looking of the bunch. Otherwise the rest of the Lambdas look better.
