Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

That is the type of refined interior design that will make Buick a relevant choice between Chevrolet and Cadillac. Also, it will give those Enclave buyers something to accompany it in the drive way. Mom can have the beautiful family hauler Enclave and Dad can have a good looking turbo-charged 4 banger for the daily commute.

It looks classy and modern at the same time...I hope they build it as close to this as they can. Wonder if Buick will ever do a coupe again?

Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

The more I look at it, the more I like it. Especially after viewing the hi-res photos. The devil is in the details, as I mentioned on another thread before these were released.

You can see Cadillac's upascale image influence. Wrap around LED lighting on the dash. Twin side vents on the center console. Just below the center console, in the shifter area. Good.

I like the position of the portholes. Doesn't take away fromt he clean lines and profile, but gives it some personality. They look like they could actually extract air from the engine bay.

Looks like this could easily be a coupe design-wise. Would be very sexy.

I really like the "Invicta" nameplate. Any chance it will be used? That's a very handsome vehicle.

the small side windows make the car look massive and heavy. I hope they improve it on production version. The interior is awesome. Welcome back Buick!

Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

The front looks a little bland but otherwise it is pretty sharp. The interior is especially nice and I am keeping my fingers crossed that there will be no hard plastic anywhere. I think if you combine this with the Aura looking spy shot from China than you have the Invicta. I bet the side glass and doors of the actual car will mimic the new Opel Insignia.

Very promising. Hope the production version remains close to this (the panoramic roof would be a nice option to have as well). Properly marketed, this would be a credible competitor to Mercury and low/mid-range Lexi.

Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

I'm confused, it looks like the LaCrosse we have been seeing spy shots of. So is this what we get?

You forgot Lincoln MKZ too. That is pretty much what Buick is supposed to be going after.

Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti were not meant to be Buick competition. They are Cadillac equivalents with some low-end offerings to compete with the Big Two's middle brands that do not exist in foreign auto-manufacturers.

Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

Outstanding! And so near to a production model, too . . . . !

Now I understand what Bob Lutz meant when he said the LaCrosse's successor would be a very special car.

I especially love the front three-quarter photograph, and the trad-Buick "sweepspear" flanks. Muscular, curvaceous, taut and unmistakeably American. I love it!

The reinvention of Buick is really beginning to gather momentum. What a shame GM couldn't have reinterpreted Oldsmobile in a similarly effective manner.

Still, as a loyalist of the Tri-Shield division, I am just as pleased as can be that there at last seems to be the possibility of a Buick revival.

GO DETROIT!

Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

amazing.

so this is basically the new "lacrosee" I hope it gets the Invicta name...

it's basically a production exterior and the interior is pretty close to all the spy pics.
