Well the truth is this is a Chinese car and it makes its world debut in China, not in America, so of course it will be more China orientated, beside it should be 5-series is a poor carbon copy of this car, man how ugly is 5-series

What is wrong with him liking the Invicta? I love it and would love to have one in my collection. They were and still are one of the most beautiful designs of that type, standing out in their day for being so very low to the ground when others had ground clearance like a truck. And they were fast.....

Re: Here's the new Buick!

Whoa, the body is so tall that it almost looks like it's hiding off-road running gear! Far too much "Panzerwagen" look for me. I am afraid the tall beltline is soon going to be out of fashion, so Buick would better be ahead of the curve then behind it...

Funny how everybody's getting so worked up over a car whose rear end is a revamped version of the theme found in the Camroid...

Don't get me wrong, I hope it will turn out to be a nice and successful car, but it could've been SO much better...

Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

Very nice. I hope it does well.

A few posters made the point of keeping Buick below Cadillac.
Phooey! let Buick compete hard. Their cars are far enough from Cadillac in image, style and layout to appeal to different prople.
Two pronged attack on the luxury prestige market for mine, and yes I know it'll take a little while for Buick to be really considered in that league. All the more reason to get cracking.

Re: Beijing: Buick Invicta Concept revealed

I am not feeling this Buick concept at all, exteriorly speaking. I do think the interior is nice, though a better color would have made a better impression.
I see aside from the Insignia cues, Holden design themes here. I am wondering if this has some Torana cues in the rear - like the rear end of the greenhouse? kinda looks like it.

I do agree w/some of the post by Tri-Shield, which doesn't happen often, as to his "disappointment" w/the concept. I also agree w/the 2 things about the concept, most of which is the colored Buick badge! Something that should not have been taken out of it to begin with. As to the name though...I dunno.

I dunno if GM/Buick could legally use the Invicta name. There is a car maker in England called The Invicta Car Company. So unless this car company does not have the rights to the name here in the States/NA, then GM should be free to use it again & as well as obtain the rights to it, if they have not done so already.

Here is the link to website of the Invicta Car Company.

Mmmmm, purdy. I agree with Paul that the Chinese Park Ave. would look like it came from a different flock if it nested with the Enclave and now, the Invicta. FWIW 2 thumbs up from me (though I'd never buy one).

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It would be great if this car gets as much praise from the press as the Enclave.

I wonder why the front page on headline on gminsidenews.com is still the Insignia?

looks great, but the belt line looks a bit too tall in the side shot imo.

Cadillac (at least the higher ones) should be RWD or RWD based AWD, Buicks (except for a flagship model) should be FWD or FWD based AWD. Cadillacs have always had more flash... certainly the A&S ones keep that going.

Other than that, have at it... there's no need to protect anything.
