Spy Photos: 2010 BMW V Series

MUNICH — The 2010 BMW V Series is still years away from its official launch, but spy photos continue to reveal more details about the future BMW model.

Based on the latest spy shots, the V Series is expected to ride on the BMW 7 Series platform. Its high roof line will provide an SUV-like interior, although it's expected to seat only four or five passengers.

As close as this prototype appears to production, the finished design isn't expected until roughly 2009, with an on-sale date as far off as early 2010.

What this means to you: BMW gets ready to compete with the Mercedes-Benz R-Class, and with a more attractive package. — Kelly Toepke, News

Re: Spy Photos: 2010 BMW V Series

I don't think it's a real step forward for BMW. It looks like someone photo shopped a Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes into one and called it a day. Maybe I'm missing something, but I've never been a fan of BMW and I kinda hope they do make this car just for Cadillac and Lincoln's sake.

Re: Spy Photos: 2010 BMW V Series

So it's a crossover that has more "car" than "suv"?

No. Because, if I'm not mistaken, Holden uses "V" too.

Why would Cadillac sue Holden? They aren't even sold on the same continent.

As for this BMW thing, I don't really see what segment this fits, but it will probably sell just because it's a BMW.

Point out where I even said Cadillac should sue Holden -- which makes absolutely no sense anyways!

The original remark was, "Didn't Cadillac trademark the V." And the answer is No. Because even Holden uses it.

It's not exclusive to Cadillac.

And for the record, they are sold on the same continent -- Australia.

I wasn't aware of any Cadillacs being sold down under. Escalade?

Didn't they start selling the Cadillacs this year down under? Escalade and the RHD CTS?
