Re: Spied: 2009 BMW 7 Interior!!!

You would think a company the size of BMW would be able to hire someone to design some new interiors. That's beyond old looking.

This has to be a goof. Why exactly do people buy BMWs again?

Yeah,

Guys that is not the 2009 BMW 7 Interior, it is joke.

I think EldoFan hit it on the nail this time:

Re: Spied: 2009 BMW 7 Interior!!!

What's so bad about it? It's a crappy cell phone picture in extremely low resolution. I've seen plenty of car interiors that look great in person but crappy in a photograph. (This is particularly true when the photographer is untalented like me).

Re: Spied: 2009 BMW 7 Interior!!!

I'm not convinced this is even the new 7's interior. Could just be an adaptation of the old one. Maybe the interior's not getting a complete redesign?

oh c'mon now! I'd have to say that it would be nice to see something a little more revolutionary, however, I would say it is a great leap from the goofy, puffy-looking interior that is currently in the 7-series. Yes, the new is basically a more refined and streamlined version of the old, but tell me, wouldn't you rather the new version over the old?

But look at the space-age speedometer and tach! I mean, who else was that technologically advanced to have a digital display!?

Re: Spied: 2009 BMW 7 Interior!!!

BMW's styling reached its pinnacle before the current 3/5/6/7/X3/X5 models came out. Since then, inside and out, they just look weird with strange nonsensical shapes and contours all over. They are just a mess. The only real improvement I can see on this supposed 2009 7 interior pic is the removal of the bulging hood over the iDrive screen.

Re: Spied: 2009 BMW 7 Interior!!!

Such an ugly interior. I don't care how nice the materials are, it's simply horrid. All those cut lines, no rhyme or reason to the design. Sheesh.

And that interior with wood looks like what GM did with Cadillac with the SRX and CTS before the SRX got a proper interior and the CTS was totally redone.

I still love the latest interior for the SRX. Just lovely.

Well, not really a "new shifter." It's BMW parts bin.
Even for pre-production, that's a very sloppy interior. I would hope that the wood grains would match and flow into each other.
I'm not so sure about the semi-integrated center stack either. Piano black?
Looks like a possible ergonomic nightmare with iDrive positioned next to the shifter like that. But we'll see.

We'll see, I guess. I'm glad they went back to the proper shifter position though.
